Maintaining A Floor Scrubber

If you are in charge of cleaning an office building, a gym, or any area that has a lot of floor space, you know how important it is to keep them clean and how difficult the task may be. One of the necessary piece of equipment would be an automatic floor scrubber. A floor scrubber can be a great tool to clean, buff, and polish the floors. However, it is extremely important to keep the floor scrubber in good working order. By conducting certain cleaning equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, you will make sure that they scrubber lasts a long time and that it can continue cleaning the floors perfectly.

  1. Clean and Change Brushes. When it comes to a floor scrubber, one of the most important parts is the brushes on the scrubber. There may often be cylindrical or disk brushes that can start to gather different kinds of debris. When these brushes are full of debris they can begin to scratch the floor and do more damage than good. It is important to regularly clean out these brushes. A power washer can often remove most of the debris that has gathered in the bristles of the brushes. After regular use, the brushes may also need to be replaced so that they continue cleaning effectively.
  2. Replacing Squeegees. Another important component of a floor scrubber is a squeegee. A squeegee is what will help keep the floors from streaking and will keep them flawless. However, over time a squeegee can begin to wear out. Debris can cut or nick the squeegee blade so that it no longer will do a good job at cleaning. When this is the case, it is time to replace the squeegee. This will help to ensure that your scrubber lasts a lot longer.
  3. Lubrication. As with any mechanical machine, an automatic floor scrubber is going to require lubrication on joints and moving parts. As long as it stays greased it will continue to run smoothly. If it is not properly greased, it will begin to run rough and could damage the floor or stop working altogether.
