Tips for Improving Heating Oil Efficiency for Your Business

If you have moved into a building that you are currently renting for your business, there's a good chance that you don't have a lot of choices for what your heating methods are. If you are able to get a building that relies on heating oil as its fuel source, then you are lucky. However, there are ways that you can make your heating even more efficient so that you can widen your profit margins and spend less on heating. Here are some tips for doing so.

1. Talk to Your Landlord

Your landlord is likely not going to be willing to upgrade your oil heating system, which would make it more efficient, since newer models are usually expensive. However, there are a range of improvements that you can likely get your landlord to pay for partially. One important improvement is double glazing your windows, which will increase their insulation and decrease the amount of heat that is lost through them. Another option is to add insulation throughout the building, including on any of the doors. Talking to your landlord about these and similar improvements is a good first step when it comes to lowering your overall heating bill.

2. Purchase Premium Heating Oil

Your next step is to talk to the heating oil supplier of your building and see if they will supply you with premium grade heating oil. This heating oil burns more cleanly, which can allow you to apply for energy credits from the government that will allow you to offset your energy bills. It will also reduce the chances that parts of the oil heater will break down since there will not be as many chemicals that could cause them to erode. This will allow you to avoid having to pay for repairs or wait for your landlord to repair them.

3. Use a Fuel Remote Monitoring System

Finally, install a fuel remote monitoring system. This will allow you to burn your fuel more efficiently and use only what you need, reducing your carbon footprint and further increasing your power to get tax credits from the government for green policies. It will also allow you to automatically order more fuel when you are running low, saving you a great deal of time and worry.

For more information, talk to a company like Cash Oil that specializes in heating oil. They will be able to tell you about other upgrades that will lower your energy bills.
